We all want to celebrate our nations independence by enjoying our wonderful bounty of food and drink. Of course the day after too many of these drinks can make you feel sluggish. How about some cocktails that add a refreshing, healthy twist to ward off the day after drag? Aloe infused Detox water helps keep you hydrated, helps digesting all of those foods off the grill and still add a heathy shine to your skin. The following cocktails are easy to make and will leave you feeling refreshed on the Fourth of July and maybe more importantly on the Fifth.
4oz Mangaloe detoxwater
2oz Strawberry Puree
1oz Agave Syrup Filled with sparkling water
Build on Collins Glass with crushed ice
White rum optional
STARS & STRIPES SANGRIA
1/2 cup Original (Lychee) detoxwater
1 cup whole black grapes
1 cup whole green grapes
2 oranges, sliced into rounds
1 lemon, sliced into rounds
1 lime, sliced into rounds
1/4 cup brandy
1 (750) bottle of fruity red wine, which as Pinot Noir
1 (12 ounce) can ginger ale
1. Rinse and de-stem grapes, then pat dry. Spread in a single layer on a
baking sheet, then place in the freezer at least two hours before you plan
2. In a large glass pitcher, combine 1/2 of the orange slices (save the
second half for serving), lime, and lemon slices. Add the brandy and
stir gently to combine. Slowly pour in the wine.
Refrigerate sangria for at least two hours, or as long as overnight (a
longer chill time will increase the flavor).
3. When ready to serve, add the Original (Lychee) detoxwater to the pitcher and stir gently
with spoon. To sugar the glass rims, place the colored sugar on a
plate, then rub an orange slice around the glass rim. Dip the rim of
each glass into the sugar, coating well. Fill glasses with frozen grapes
and the reserved orange slices, then slowly pour in the sangria. Sip
immediately and enjoy.
